team building group Mark Vonnegut, Son of Kurt, on Introverts and ExtrovertsI am not usually a fan of bashing extroverts in order to win introverts the respect they are due, but this is a very funny quote from Mark Vonnegut, son of Kurt — from his book, “Just Like Someone Without Mental Illness Only More So”:

“Introverts almost never cause me trouble and are usually much better at what they do than extroverts. Extroverts are too busy slapping one another on the back, team building, and making fun of introverts to get much done. Extroverts are amazed and baffled by how much some introverts get done and assume that they, the extroverts, are somehow responsible. “

Bless his heart for noticing. It feels good to have our hard work and positive work ethic recognized. It’s in keeping with what my mother taught me. She’d say: “You’re not paid to yak, you’re paid to work. Give your employer his money’s worth.”

I believe that my mother’s work ethic still has its place in this world of ours. I do my best to make her proud.
